Thoughts Of A Girl
Patricia Mitchell
It's almost incomprehensible to think strength would be a character one must possess in order to bare ones
unshaved flesh to the world. If so many women did not possess this character flaw, daisy's would be something
you merely plucked, instead of something that plucked you!
...He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me...
Upon hearing a young girl complain about having to shave her legs before making an entrance at the pool, I put
my two cents forth by saying, " you don't have to shave, I haven't in years. Besides, no one will really notice. "
I'm not sure why I made this final declaration, knowing it to be false.
...He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me...
My own experience has been that they will all notice, although women will feel more inclined, to comment upon
the state of ones hair. Perhaps it is women who keep the lines drawn? If the foot soldiers withdrew, the bound-
aries would come down. Any way, I digress.
...He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me..
This young girl upon hearing my statement said, "Wow, your a stronger woman than I", which began my musing
upon the oddity, yet complete acceptance and understanding of the etiquette surrounding a woman's body hair.
...He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me..
Having worked long and hard at achieving an inner and outer strength, I am glad I can call upon it in the service
of just saying no to shaving... although, there are moments when I falter, peer pressure being a difficult thing,
regardless of your age.
...He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me...
